BJLJ provided complete architectural and engineering services for district-wide additions and alterations including capital improvements funded by a $19.8 mil. bond referendum, for which we provided professional and technical assistance to support the referendum.
New construction included a total of seven building additions, consisting of classrooms, library, gymnasium and locker rooms. Renovation work included conversion of the existing District Offices to a new wing of classrooms, and complete renovation of an old school building wing into the new District Offices. The renovation work included complete asbestos abatement, new ceilings, lighting, flooring, bathrooms, fire alarm, air conditioning, computer networking, etc.
District-wide capital improvement work included total window replacement, masonry restoration, replacement of concrete walks, roof replacement, boiler replacements, complete toilet renovations, ADA compliance upgrades (incl. new ramps, elevators, toilets, water coolers, etc.) improved ventilation, fire alarm and emergency lighting upgrades. Site improvements also included replacement of existing cinder running track with a new 400m EPDM track, including new field events, drainage, irrigation system, field lighting, and also provided additional parking at various schools.
BJLJ has recently completed a comprehensive study of the Middle School and High School buildings. This study is being used at the basis for a proposed upcoming Bond Issue, which will address increasing enrollments and District wide capital improvements.
All projects were completed on time and within budget.
